ALLEN, Joseph Dudley

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 Joseph Dudley Allen, age 97, of Miami passed away Aug. 5, 2014. He was born Dec. 23, 1916, in Miami, Ariz., the son of Vera Chesley and Price W. Allen. Joe served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He retired from Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company in 1976 after 30 years’ service. He leaves behind one sister, Sylvia Campbell; two nieces, Linda Wheeler, and Diana Hincha; and many others. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Smithson Allen; his father, Price William; mother, Vera Chesley Allen; four sisters, Nina Reed, Grace Echols, Velda Adams, and Melissa Boyington; and five brothers, Albert Allen, Price Alex Allen, James Allen, Ethan Allen, and Chesley Allen. Our Uncle Dudley was very entertaining, with lots of stories to tell and fun to be with. We love him and will miss him. He was a resident of Copper Mountain Inn. Graveside Service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 at Hubbard Cemetery, 5400 N. Cemetery Rd. Thatcher, AZ 85552.
