Wayne Hughes, 93, resident of Pinetop died Aug. 8, 2014 from surgical complications. He was born July 2, 1921 in Owego, N.Y.

Wayne received a degree in physics, worked as an electrical engineer, was a boat captain, pilot, inventor, photographer, painter  and mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, Unity Church, 257 N. Woodland Road in Pinetop.
