Curtis R. "Nick" King of Wickenburg, died June 18 in Wickenburg. He was 63.
Mr. King was born June 27, 1932 in, Holtville, Calif. He had lived in Arizona for the past three years, coming from Utah.
Mr. King served in the U.S. Navy, primarily in the submarine service, and was veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Wickenburg Elks Lodge. He owned an auto service supply company in Holtville, Calif., which his father, Curtis, had founded.
When Mr. King retired in 1990 he sold the business to his son, Rick.
Golf was Mr. King's passion and he was a member of the Wickenburg Country Club. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He enjoyed hunting, everything from dove as a child to deer when he was older.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of Wickenburg; daughter and son-in-law Theresa Ann and Emil Schaffner of Holtville, son and daughter-in-law Curtis "Rick" and Angie King of Holtville; mother Lois King of Holtville; and grandchildren, Roy, Neal and Loren Schaffner, and Casey
and Nicholas King, all of Holtville.
At his request, Mr. King's remains will be scattered by air in the nearby desert at a later date.
