The Payson Roundup, Payson, Arizona, Friday, August 15, 2014 Joan Thompson August 17, 1925 - August 10, 2014 Joan Thompson, 88, peacefully passed away Aug. 10, 2014. She was born in Escondido, Calif. Aug. 17, 1925 to the late Mark and Mildred Ann Kear. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles H. Thompson, Jr. in 1974, and is survived by her children, Cathryn Hutchinson (Jack) and Chuck Thompson (Susan); seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Kari Waters and her exceptional staff at Ordinary Lifestyles Assisted Living for the loving care they provided for Joan over the last seven years. Friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Payson Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 913 S. Ponderosa St., at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 18, 2014. Burial will follow alongside her husband at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park in Upper Round Valley.
