Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, August 13, 2014 - Julieta (Benny) Merino, 48, passed away July 22, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born to Macrina and Enrique Merino May 18, 1966 in Oaxaca, Mexico. Benny had lived in Arizona for 24 years. She was a self-employed housekeeper and loved her work. She was a lover of nature and enjoyed hiking, camping and traveling. Her favorite color was yellow and of course, favorite flowers were bright yellow sunflowers. She loved going shopping and getting “real Coke” from Circle K. She was very family oriented and spending time with her son and her family was her top priority. She was especially fond of her nieces and nephews as well. Benny is survived by her son David Merino of Lake Havasu City; siblings, Macrina Espinoza of Lake Havasu City, Alicia Merino, Minerva Merino, Natividad Merino, Joaquin Merino, Rocio Merino and Ana Marie Merino, all of Mexico. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as her beloved dog, “Chiquita.” Benny was preceded in death by her parents, Macrina and Enrique Merino and siblings, Ignacia Merino and Joaquin Galindo. A memorial service will be for Benny on Friday, Aug. 15, at 5 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 510 Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City. A reception at the Quality Inn will immediately follow. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
