DEBELLIS, Geraldine (Geri)

(Maiden Name: Spinella)

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, August 14, 2014 - Geraldine Rose (“Geri”) DeBellis, 75, died Aug. 9, 2014 after a long bout with lung cancer. Geri was born in New York City Feb. 8, 1939 to Gerald and Josephine Spinella and was an only child. She grew up in New York, met and married Franklin DeBellis in 1957 and raised their family primarily at their home on the South Shore of Long Island until 1980 when Frank retired and they moved to Lake Havasu City. Although she wore many hats in this town, Geri is probably most remembered for her work with student services at Mohave Community College. During this time, Geri taught an arts and crafts class, which was enjoyed by many local participants. Geri always had an artistic flair, exemplified by her beautiful home and gardens. She hand-made many of her gifts and cards, which were and still are treasured by all their recipients. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank and her children Tina, Joe and Michelle, as well as her beloved dog, Yoshi II. No funeral or memorial services will take place. Anyone wishing to pay tribute to her life is welcome to make a donation in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, her favorite charity.
