Virgie Marie Marshall, 87, passed away at her residence with her family
by her side, Aug. 11, 2014. She was born March 16, 1927 to the late
Marion and Frances Conant in Westfield, Ind.
Virgie’s family moved to Ohio when she was a young girl. She was a
loving, devoted and involved mother. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout
leader for many years and helped with 4-H projects. She assisted in
raising nieces and nephews when needed. She was an excellent seamstress
and enjoyed making clothes for her kids and herself, including formals
at prom time and Western wear during her square dancing years. In 1969,
they moved to Lake Havasu City with their daughter and oldest grandson.
She loved the mountains, the desert and its beautiful flowers and the
lake. She loved her family and was so supportive of them.
“She is sadly missed and will be cherished forever.”
Virgie is survived by her husband of 69 years, M.G. “Jeff” Marshall of
Lake Havasu City; son, M. George Marshall of Phoenix; daughter, Vicki
Hart of Lake Havasu City; brothers, Clifford Conant of Phoenix and
George Conant of Cardington, Ohio; grandsons, Bradley Hart of Santa Fe,
N.M. and Duston Hart of Lake Havasu City, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Frances Conant;
brothers, Dale Conant and Kenneth Conant as well as two infant sons,
Eddie and Terry Marshall.
There will be a graveside service for Virgie, at 8 a.m., Saturday, at
Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to
Hospice of Havasu in honor of Virgie’s memory.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
