SPOERRY, Robert (Bob)


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Friday, August 15, 2014 - Robert “Bob” Spoerry, 67, of Lake Havasu City lost his life Aug. 11, 2014 at his family home. He was born Aug. 8, 1947 in Colfax, Iowa. His parents, Robert and Gretchen Spoerry, moved him and his brother John to Phoenix in 1957. Bob enlisted in the Army and served from 1968 to 1971 as a sergeant in the 8th Special Forces Group. Upon leaving the military, Bob began his career in law enforcement that saw him serve 12 years in Phoenix and 20 years in Lake Havasu City. He was a decorated police officer and detective who had a positive impact on the community throughout his years of service. Bob was a longtime member of the FOP and the Moose Lodge. He was an extremely active parent, coaching all four of his children in various sports throughout their lives. He enjoyed golf, cruising his Harley, and traveling to see friends and family. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, John and his father Robert. He is survived by his mother, Gretchen; daughters, Stephanie Spoerry and Natalie (Michael) Davis; sons, Raymond Fraser and Kyle Fraser; grandsons, Tristan Tunstall and Isaiah Davis. The family will be having a celebration of life for Bob at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home at 10 a.m. today. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to the River City United Way at PO Box 966, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
