Leo Roy Bridges went to his heavenly home on Aug. 10, 2014. He was 85.
Born March 31, 1929, in Oatman and raised there, he went to work at age
15 building and operating two service stations. At 17, he began work on
the construction of Davis Dam as a heavy-duty maintenance mechanic.
In 1949, he married Daisy Lee Chapman, daughter of a pioneer Mohave
County family. They moved to Phoenix and built the home where they lived
and raised a family for 25 years, and then moved to Tempe where they
resided for the past 37 years.
Leo worked for Arizona Sand and Rock (later known as CalMat) and retired
as equipment maintenance superintendent after more than 41 years. He was
a member of Montezuma Lodge 35 Free and Accepted Masons.
Leo is survived by Daisy, his wife of 65 wonderful years; son, Robert
Bridges and wife Mary Jane Pahls of Kennett Square, Pa.; daughter, Ila
Corinne Bridges and husband Jay M. Parker of Silver Spring, Md.; son,
Gerald Bridges of Glendale; granddaughter, Kirsten Parker of London,
England; grandson, Joseph Eric Parker and wife Kathleen Parker, and
great granddaughter, Isabella Colin Parker, all of Norristown, Pa.;
sister, Eileen Hinton and husband W.K. Hinton, nephew, Steven Hinton and
niece Jill McDaniel, all of Shreveport, La.; loving nieces, Cathy and
Stephanie Bridges of Phoenix; and his dogs, Bitsy and Fernie.
Services will be private.

Hospice, 6215 E. Arbor Avenue, Mesa, AZ 85206. Arrangements entrusted to
Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
