Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Tuesday, August 19, 2014 - Edward Alan Froelich lost his battle with cancer Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. Eddie was born March 16, 1955, in Huntington Park, Calif., to Jack and Doris Froelich. Eddie was raised in Downey until 1964 when the family moved to Fullerton, Calif. There he graduated from Troy High School. He worked at W.C. Froelich until he moved to Parker, in 2000, where he bought a home on the Colorado River. There he worked for Havasu Springs Resort. He loved the outdoors. Growing up, there were many family vacations, usually involving camping or boating. When he was a young boy his dad took him on backpacking trips into the High Sierras. Eddie loved the water, his Mom used to call him a fish! He especially loved water skiing and even knew how to ski barefooted. Eddie also liked motorcycle riding and did some racing when he was younger. He loved an adventure. Eddie came to stay with his Dad in May to continue his treatment in Fullerton and his family feels very blessed that they got to spend so much time with him these last few months. Eddie was truly a friend to all and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother Doris and his sister Jan Larson. His father Jack and sister Debbie Kersten survive him. A celebration of Eddie’s life will be Saturday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m., in the restaurant at Havasu Springs Resort. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Eddie’s name to The American Cancer Society.
