Edward Alan Froelich lost his battle with cancer Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014.
Eddie was born March 16, 1955, in Huntington Park, Calif., to Jack and
Doris Froelich. Eddie was raised in Downey until 1964 when the family
moved to Fullerton, Calif. There he graduated from Troy High School. He
worked at W.C. Froelich until he moved to Parker, in 2000, where he
bought a home on the Colorado River. There he worked for Havasu Springs
Resort.
He loved the outdoors. Growing up, there were many family vacations,
usually involving camping or boating. When he was a young boy his dad
took him on backpacking trips into the High Sierras.
Eddie loved the water, his Mom used to call him a fish! He especially
loved water skiing and even knew how to ski barefooted. Eddie also liked
motorcycle riding and did some racing when he was younger. He loved an
adventure.
Eddie came to stay with his Dad in May to continue his treatment in
Fullerton and his family feels very blessed that they got to spend so
much time with him these last few months.
Eddie was truly a friend to all and was always willing to help anyone in
need. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother Doris and his sister Jan Larson.
His father Jack and sister Debbie Kersten survive him.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be Saturday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m., in
the restaurant at Havasu Springs Resort.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Eddie’s name to The American
Cancer Society.
