Ivy Jean Wills, age 80, passed away Aug. 15, 2014 peacefully in Payson, Ariz. Ivy was born March 9, 1934 in Quemado, N.M. to Matthew and Lillie Cogwell. Ivy was next to the oldest of 12 siblings — Billy, Don, Joy, George, Leo, Junie, Betty, Donna Kay, Sara Victoria, Carolyn, Marilyn, and Sandy.
Ivy is survived by her children, Jackie (Mike) Murray, Sharon Wingfield, Joseph Wingfield, and Rene (Jimmy) Morris; her grandchildren, Holly, Becky, Valkrie, Michelle, and Ivy; 10 great-grandchildren, Cody, Destiny, Weston, Shawnee, Loran, Skylar, Waylon, Jack, Connor, and Landon. Ivy also had six stepchildren, nine step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Ivy is also survived by seven siblings, George, Leo, Junie, Betty, Carolyn, Marilyn and Sandy; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Ivy is preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Lillie Cogwell; husbands Bob (2012), Phil (1978) and Jack (1994); brothers, Billy and Don; and sisters, Joy, Donna Kay and Sara Victoria.
Ivy grew up in Quemado, N.M. where she married Jack and later moved to Phoenix where they had three children. She started her work experience as a waitress and after her divorce from Jack, she married Phil and had one more child. Phil and Ivy started an electronics business in the Sunnyslope area of Phoenix in 1964 called Arizona Coil. In 1984 they moved the business to Payson and it’s still operational at their plant on Main Street.
Ivy and Bob were involved with the Payson Elks Lodge and had numerous friends from the Lodge. Ivy also liked 4-wheeling and had a very active life with her extended family and friends. Ivy retired from the business in 2010 and Bob passed in 2012. The family currently administers Arizona Coil with Ivy’s daughters and grandchildren caring for the family business. After her retirement, Ivy was taken care of by her daughters, granddaughters and all the wonderful staff at Ordinary Lifestyle until her death.
Ivy was a resident of Payson for more than 30 years and also had a summer home in Verde Glen since 1970. No services are planned at this time, but family and friends will be notified when services will be held. Ivy was dearly loved by her huge family and circle of friends, she will be missed, but always remembered.
