HODGKINS, Larry S.

Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona Larry S. Hodgkins (December 1, 1930 - August 25, 2014) LARRY S HODGKINS, 83, passed away August 25, 2014 in his home in Show Low, AZ. Larry was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on Dec 1, 1930. Larry had a long illness but always had his sense of humor. He retired from Navajo County as a building inspector and was well known for his artistic ability as a carpenter. He built several custom homes and help remodel commercial and residential establishments throughout the state of AZ. He served in the Navy right out of High School. Larry married Bobbie Jo Matlock in 1951 and had four children in Phoenix AZ. He moved to Show Low in 1970. He met and married Wanda Chappel, they were married over 26 years before she passed away. He was known for his passion to collect antiques tools and was a great partner to all of his friends in the neighborhood watering holes. He loved Nascar and watched all types of sports on TV for his entertainment. Larry is survived by his twin daughters, Janet McDonald of Phoenix, AZ and Judy Button of Show Low, AZ, his son, Steve Hodgkins of Show Low, AZ. Larry has 5 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by youngest Son, Garry Hodgkins; May 18, 1999 and second wife, Wanda Hodgkins Feb 27, 2000 and first wife, Bobbie Jo Hodgkins July 5, 2002. His parents were Lawrence J Hodgkins and Joy Orleen Locke. A small memorial service will be announced at a later date.
