Ruby M. (Taylor) Caddenhead, 95, peacefully passed away in Chandler, Ariz. on Aug. 30, 2014.
Born Feb. 28, 1919 in Avery, Texas to the late Ben and Cora (Morgan) Taylor, Ruby attended school in Texas and graduated salutatorian of her class of 1938.
She moved to Arizona at the age of 19 and married Edgar Caddenhead and raised her family. The family moved to Payson in 1962 and Ruby worked at “The Diamond Dart Motel” and then at “Peggy’s Fashions” on Main Street for many years.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Edgar, who died in April, 1995; and all six of her siblings, brothers Sid, Jack, Hugh and Don and sisters Thelma and Hazel “Susie.”
She was the glue in a very large family. She is loved and will be missed by many people.
Ruby is survived by her eight children, Dick (Barbara) of Payson, Paul (Candy) of Payson, Larry of Phoenix, Karen Mercer (Steve) of Clarkdale, Ed (Joe) of Payson, Ben (Linda) of Crofton, MD, Kathy Rehder (Murray) of Chandler and Rick of Gilbert; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Rest in peace, Mom. You have done your job and will forever be a part of all of US.
Friends are warmly invited to join Ruby’s family for her funeral service on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 901 S. Westerly Road.
