UPTAIN, Mary (Cookey)

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Mary “Cookey” Uptain, aged 71, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, in Tucson, Ariz. She was born in Albuquerque, N.M. She lived in Globe for nearly 50 years. She was active in the Globe-Miami community. She worked and volunteered at Holy Angels School, and Miami Junior High. Cookey is survived by her children, Julee, and her husband Bill; Robert, and his wife Debbie; Amy, and her husband Dennis; grandchildren, Kate and Will Davis and John Mercer; her brother, Jim and his wife Linda, and their extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny B. Uptain, and her parents, H.W and Mary Horn. Cookey wished to be cremated and did not want a funeral. She requested that services be said in her honor, when possible, in your own church, and we desire to honor her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cookey Uptain Memorial fund at the Wells Fargo Bank in Globe.
