Dorothy Walden, 82, of Springerville died Sept. 1, 2014. She was born April 29, 1932, in Dalhart Texas.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hulda Gumper, sisters Mildred Ballinger and Gertrude Campbell, brother Forrest Gumper, husband Victor Walden and son Robert Walden.  

Dorothy is survived by sons Jim (Louise) and Dave (Kay); daughters Betsy (Scott) Deacon, Patty (Andy) Martin, Jeanne (Bob) Harshbarger and Susie Brooks, along with 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Sept. 4 at Community Presbyterian Church in Springerville with potluck lunch following.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to causes near and dear to Dorothy’s heart: Beta Sigma Phi sorority scholarship fund, Hospital Auxiliary or Community Presbyterian Church.
