James “Jimmy” Albert Horton, 70, resident of Show Low and Three Rivers, Texas, died Aug. 26, 2014, in Mesa from cancer. He was born Aug. 30, 1943, in Texas.
Jimmy worked for Waste Management as a maintenance supervisor, servicing the Waste Management Fleets in Austin, Texas, Show Low, Lakeside, Pinetop, Winslow, Springerville and Phoenix and for Sonny Penrod’s Machine Shop specializing in diesel mechanics. He returned to Texas in 1997 and worked for Tiger Sanitation and odd jobs during his retirement.
Jimmy married Ella D. Owens. This union is blessed with two children, Lori (Freddy) and James Alvin Horton.
Jimmy married Carol Ann Stepherson in 1981. This loving union was blessed with two stepdaughters, Mischelle (Jeremy) Softley of Texas and Amy (Kenn) Mueller-Evans of Arizona, and Bryan (Ashley) of Arizona, Jeremiah (Tess) of Texas, Faith (Tuan) Tang of Arizona, Joshua (Kim) of Arizona and Mary (Patrick) Fast of Arizona; and 26 grandchildren and one great-grandson on the way.
Jimmy is survived by his mother, sisters Fay and Patricia, brothers Lonnie and Larry Horton, wife “D” and his loving children.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, stepfather/uncle Lennox Horton, sisters Mary and Carolyn, brother Johnny and granddaughters Kasie Horton and Roselyn
Funeral services were held Sept. 2 in Three Rivers, Texas.
