Dennis Lee LeForge, 68, of Prescott, Ariz., died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at the VA Hospital after battling cancer.
He is survived by his sister, Debra L. LeForge of Lake Forest, Calif., and 11 maternal cousins.
Dennis was born June 28, 1946, to William and Genevieve LeForge in Los Angeles, Calif. He grew up in Anaheim and was a Magnolia High School graduate. In 1966, he joined the Air Force and later graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to become a teacher at Paramount High School. While Dennis was a member of the Dan Gurney racing team, he developed a love for rebuilding and racing his own Corvairs.
Considering himself an Old Cowboy, in 1995 he moved to Paulden, Ariz., and built the 22-acre ranch of his dreams. After 17 years of ranch life, while never losing his love for Corvairs nor his membership in the Corvair Society, he moved to Prescott, where he was able to spend more time serving at Unity of Prescott.
Dennis had a good heart and a good soul, and was blessed with the gift of hospitality - he made and kept friends wherever he went. He also loved Country Western music.
A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Unity of Prescott, 145 S. Arizona Ave. Dennis will be buried at the Riverside National Cemetery.
Goodbye, Buckaroo - you will be missed.
Arrangements entrusted to Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home of Prescott.
