Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, September 7, 2014 - Werner Franz Mohr passed away Aug. 15, 2014 at the age of 82. He was born April 14, 1932 in Gladbeck, West Germany to the late Kilian and Luise Mohr. Werner met and married his lifelong love, Wilma KlaraLehnert in West Germany. They moved to the United States in 1971 and settled in Santa Barbara, Calif. There, Werner established Mohr and Sons Tile, which is still currently being run by his grandson, Brian Mohr. After 30 years in California, they moved to Arizona and found their home in Lake Havasu City in 2000. Here, they established Bridge City Builders with two of the children, building homes. Currently, he established Tri- City Construction, with his youngest son. He was a master tile setter, in his trade for more than 65 years with a German “Meisterbrief.” Werner had a great talent and love of construction. He was often found of meandering through the aisles of the local “Lowe’s” home improvement store, and was always doing a project at home if he wasn’t working. Werner was a member of the Lake Havasu Yacht Club, which he and his wife Wilma, enjoyed going to every Friday night and volunteering for events. He was known amongst the club members for his “Black Forest Cake” that he would make and donate for the fundraisers. He was a good man who worked hard all his life, loved his family and enjoyed life. Werner is survived by his loving wife, Wilma; sons, Axel Mohr and Kim Mohr; daughter, Sabine Mohr, all of Lake Havasu City. He is also survived by his sister, Johanna Nakagawa and his two grandchildren Lynde Mohr and Brian Mohr. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
