Kathy Leah Johnson, 54, of Buckeye died Aug. 22, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Ms. Johnson was born Sept. 24, 1960, in Mesa to Don and Bette Johnson.
She moved to Arizona in 1960.
She graduated from Westwood High School in 1977 and received her associate degree from Mesa Community College in 1983, where she was student body president.
She was employed with Arizona Public Service Co. for more than 20 years.
She organized Special Olympics programs and was awarded the “Those Who Care” Award from APS in 1986.
She was named to the “Who's Who of Executives and Professionals” in 1992 and 2000.
She was last employed with Walmart in Buckeye.
She is survived by her parents, Don and Bette Johnson of Phillipsburg, Mo.; and three sisters, Linda Flores, Anna Poundstone and Susie Needham.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 5 at Mesa Cemetery, 1212 W. Center, Mesa.
The Bishop Schanks will officiate.
