Gerald "Jerry" Wyman Foster passed away peacefully at home with his family on Sept. 3, 2014, in Payson, Ariz., at the age of 70.
Jerry was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Bemidji, Minn., to Leona Marie Oskerson and Wyman Carrol Foster and raised by his mother and stepfather, Albert Alfred Nyman, after his father was killed in action during WWII.
His family moved to Prescott, Ariz. in 1949. He married his wife of 43 years, Marian "Sandy" Lodema Jenkins, in 1971.
Jerry worked for ADOT for more than 35 years, was a dedicated member in the LDS church, a Boy Scout Leader, an NRA Instructor, President of APEA/AFSCME; local 3195, a member of the Legion of the Moose and an avid volunteer for his local Democrat office. He also loved his work in Genealogy.
Jerry dedicated his life to his family, church, community and friends. He was a devoted and beloved husband, father and grandfather, and selflessly gave to all in need without question.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sandy Foster; and their five children, Dennis Foster, Julie Foster Norblom, Margaret Foster, Calvin Foster and Thomas Foster; along with their 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Gene Nyman, Sharon Gridley, Bonnie Taylor and Neil Nyman. His parents preceded him in death.
Services are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at 11 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 913 S. Ponderosa, Payson, Ariz. Join us to celebrate Jerry's life.
