HERRON, William A. (Bill)

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Tuesday, August 26, 2014 William A. Herron, 83, of Avondale died Aug. 20, 2014, at Banner Estrella Hospital in Phoenix. Mr. Herron was born May 28, 1931, in Lawton, Okla. He moved to Arizona in 1943. He served in the Air Force and is a veteran of the Korean War. He was a chaplain for the American Legion Post No. 1 for 14 years, the president of the SOAR United Steel Workers Union and a member of Trinity Fellowship Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Della Herron; and one brother, Eugene White. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Fellowship Church, 1535 Sequoia Drive, Phoenix. The burial will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the National Veterans Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek, Phoenix. The Rev. John Adair will officiate.
