West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Friday, August 22, 2014 Jessie G. Mendoza, 92, of Peoria and formerly of Tolleson died Aug. 17, 2014. Mrs. Mendoza was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Juarez, Mexico, to Trinidad and Isidora Gem. She is survived by two sons, Manuel Verdugo and David Mendoza; three daughters, Velma Alcocer, Beatrice Sausedo and Margie Torres; two brothers, Trinida Gem and Steve Gem; three sisters, Petra Soto, Ruth Juarez and Yolanda Gem;14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Advantage Crystal Rose Chapel, 9155 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Road, Avondale.
