Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 Benjamin Anthony Montiel, Jr., 64, died Sept. 7, 2014, in Winslow. Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 10 a.m., also at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow is handing the arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~ Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow, Winslow, Arizona Benjamin Anthony Montiel Jr. June 03, 1950 - September 07, 2014 Benjamin Anthony Montiel JR. was called home to our heavenly father September 07,2014. He passed away in his home in Winslow, AZ. Ben was born in Winslow June 03, 1950 and graduated from Winslow High School in 1969. Ben was employed and retired from the Winslow Fire Department as a Captain for 37 years (1974-2012). During that time he taught fire science for NPC. Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, billiards, and most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by his children Benjamin Montiel III (Rita), Nick Baca (Sheri), Anna Montiel (Trini), Christina Montiel(Jacob), and Krystal Chavez (Ellena), Grandchildren Tyler Montiel, Alexia Montiel, Shera Ono, and Benjamin Baca, Great grandchild Emily Sevier, sisters Linda Gonzales(Pilar} and Lisa Montiel. Ben is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Emma Montiel. Ben will be greatly missed by family and friends. Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 7:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Desert View Cemetery.
