Gloria Dovanie Thomsen (Downey)
On Sunday, Sept. 14, Gloria Dovanie Thomsen (Downey) went to be with her Father, God in Heaven. A service will be held at Canyon Bible Church offices, 7515 E. Long Look Drive, Prescott Valley (not at the church), 12 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, and is open to the public and those who loved her.
Gloria is survived by her loving and devoted husband Peter Thomsen, her three children, Dawn Akin, Sean Finneran and Amanda Finneran; stepdaughter Sandra Thomsen-Diner; three grandchildren, Christian Akin, Zabrina Ramirez and Ravanne Ramirez; and great-grandson Kayleb Ramirez. Along with eight siblings and her mother Ramona Teter (Downey), Gloria also had two loving aunts and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gloria was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Canyon Bible Church in Prescott Valley. She and Peter moved to Prescott Valley in 2006. She worked for Summit Bank and retired with the Washington School District as the cafeteria manager. Her love for life and Christ shined through with everything she did. While we know she is at peace watching over us all, she will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for any contributions to be made to Editha House, 336 E. Willetta St., Phoenix, AZ 85004, or edithahouse.org.
