Lola Guyon, age 102, peacefully passed away Sept. 14, 2014 in Gilbert, Ariz. She was born Sept. 2, 1912 in Collinston, Utah to the late Jacob Jeremiah and Nelly (Potts) White.
Lola was raised and educated in nearby Garland, Utah where her father was a blacksmith as well as mayor and where he served as Bishop of Garland’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Lola enjoyed dancing, working crossword puzzles, latch-hooking and reading. Her grandchildren will remember Lola for her special cookies.
The last of her parents’ 12 children, Lola is survived by her two sons, James (wife, Sandra) and Gary (wife, Nancy); as well as five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Fay Guyon, in 1985; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to join Lola’s family for the funeral service at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park in Upper Round Valley just south of Payson.
