Violet Hamann went to be with her Savior and beloved husband Aug. 4, 2014, nine days before her 105 birthday. She was loved by many and a true inspiration to her family and friends.
She was born Aug. 13, 1909, in Hamburg, Germany, to Fredrick and Elise Schroeder. The family moved to America when she was 15 years old.
She married George Hamann Aug. 16, 1930. They moved to Snowflake in 1963, where she lived until moving to Arkansas in 2008.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Marlene Sternberger of Midway, Ark.; her son George (Janice) Hamann of Clarkridge, Ark; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be made in lieu of flowers to Our Savior Episcopal Church or Hospice of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Our Savior Episcopal Church in Lakeside.
