Joyce Colleen (Tate) Cauthron, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born Nov. 23, 1936, in Carnegie, Okla., the seventh child born to Harry and Gladys Tate.
Joyce spent four years of her young life in Washington, D.C., with her family before moving back to Oklahoma, where she spent most of her life. Joyce graduated from Cement High School in 1955. She graduated from Glamorette Beauty College in Chickasha, Okla., in 1956.
Joyce married Grady Lee Cauthron March 26, 1956, in Cement, Okla. They had five children together. They traveled the world together with the U.S. Navy and later moved around the U.S. while Grady worked for the Veterans Administration.
She was preceded in death by both parents and brothers Bob and Jim Tate.
She is survived by her husband, Grady; daughters Hope and Faith (Larry) Rottmayer, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., Pam (Peter) Lee of El Paso, Texas, and Connie (Tom) Hess of Chickasha, Okla.; son Greg Cauthron of Scottsdale; grandchildren Zachary, Summer, Emily, Colin, Aaron, Heather, Sam and Seth; great-grandchildren Ryan, Bella, Cooper, Alanna, Avigail, Alexis and Evelyn; brothers Harry Jr. of Fredrick, Md., Donald (Carolyn) of Albuquerque, N.M., Burney (June) of Loveland, Colo., and Dennis (Carolyn) of Ada, Okla.; and sisters Betty Angle of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Nita Whiteley of Modesto, Calif.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation in her name.
A private service was held.
