Kathryn Kaye Stevens Lund was born in Hawkeye, Iowa Nov. 24, 1937. She
graduated from Fayette High School in 1956 and earned her degree from
Upper Iowa University with a B.A. in education in 1960.
Kathy was married to Dennis C. Lund in 1961 and the two were inseparable
for the next 53 years. Both moved to Los Angeles to pursue their careers
as educators and impacted the lives of children for the next 17 years in
California. During this time Kathy also received her masters in
education from California Lutheran College.
Kathy, Dennis and Clark moved to Lake Havasu City in 1978 and she
continued to serve as an English teacher at Lake Havasu High School for
the next six years. Kathy retired from education and pursued a career as
a State Farm agent, again in Havasu, where she built a thriving business
that still stands today.
Kathy enjoyed reading, snow skiing, spending time on the boat and was
heavily involved in multiple ministries at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband Dennis; her son, Clark and his wife,
Paige and three grandchildren, Matthew, Allyson and Abigayle. She also
is survived by her brother Terry Stevens and his family.
Kathy enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family and had the gift of
lighting up a room with her personality, contagious smile and infectious
laugh. She inspired all those around her, loved unconditionally and will
be missed by all of those that had the honor of meeting her.
After fighting Alzheimer’s for the past eight years Kathy is now able to
join our Father in Heaven and we are sure that she anxiously awaits her
family’s arrival. We will miss you Kathryn Kaye Stevens Lund so much and
we ask for your prayers as her family and friends mourn her loss.
