Dorothy D. Susalla was born on March 24, 1920 in Waterloo, Iowa. She
passed peacefully and the angels took her to be with her Lord and
husband on Thursday Sept. 4, 2014 at the age of 94.
She met her husband Alvin in 1953. He was stationed in San Diego with
the Navy. It was love at first sight and they married shortly after. At
the time of his passing they were happily married for 57 years.
She received a diploma from Norfolk College for General Business, and
graduated from San Antonio College with an Associates of Art Degree, she
also received her Real Estate License and she received a Laubach
Literacy Action Certificate, which let her teach English as a second
language. She moved to Kingman 19 years ago from Squaw Valley, Calif.,
where she became a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church.
She faithfully loved and became a cornerstone of the Trinity Episcopal
Church. She became a Lay Reader-Lay Eucharistic Minister. She
volunteered her time with Plant The Seed of Kindness from Palo Christi
Elementary and an appreciation was given by the students of Kingman
Academy of Learning.
Dorothy leaves her daughter and son-in-law Dave and Debra Oudin. She
will be truly missed, most of all her love and spirit of life and the
sparkle she always had in her eyes.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Trinity
Episcopal Church, 425 E. Spring St., Kingman.
