James Ernest Maxwell, 86, of Prescott, Ariz., departed this life Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, in Prescott.
James was born Wednesday, June 27, 1928, in Long Beach, Calif., to Ernest and Vida Maxwell. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict and was a reservist afterward. He worked as an executive accountant for more than 40 years with the Goodyear Tire Company. He volunteered for 20 plus years serving adult literacy. He was a resident of Prescott since 1995, and loved spending time playing bridge, gardening, reading and being with his family.
James is preceded in death by his wife Margaret. He is survived by his grandchildren, Timothy Arndt, Lisa Williams and Erica Kinsley; and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be a crypt-side service 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at the Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery, 12000 Heritage Memorial Lane, Dewey, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Yavapai Humane Society.
