DONALDSON, Glenn M.


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Thursday, October 02, 2014 Glenn M. Donaldson died Sept. 25, 2014, at VAMC in Prescott, Ariz. Glenn was born July 25, 1925, in Hannibal, Mo., the son of Thomas J. and Lena E. (Elston) Donaldson. Glenn was 89 years old. Glenn was very proud of his service in the United States Navy during World War II. He married the love of his life, Mable, Aug. 1, 1948. They shared 59 years together until Mable's death in 2007. They moved to Chino Valley in 1962, where Glenn ran his own repair business. Glenn was a Past Master (1980) of Aztlan Lodge # 1 F & AM and Past Worthy Patron (1983) of Queen Esther #1 Order of Eastern Star. Mable served as Worthy Matron with him. Glenn loved to fish and camp especially at Roosevelt Lake. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and shared trips with Mable's younger sister. Glenn and his beloved four-footed companion Molly shared many a walk together in recent years. Glenn is survived by his son, Richard (Linda) of Chino Valley; and daughters Sue (Richard) Bring of Cottonwood and Kay (Michael) Bobince of Spirit Lake, Idaho; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Glenn's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at the Chino Valley United Methodist Church, 735 E. Road 1 S, with inurnment at Prescott National Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in Glenn's name to VAMC Hospice Unit, 500 N. Highway 89, Prescott, AZ 86313.
