NAVA, SR., Jonathan M.

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, October 05, 2014 Jonathan M. Nava Sr., 54, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., went home to the Lord Sept. 29, 2014. Jonathan was born in Kingman, Ariz., to Joan (Bratz) and Joseph Nava on June 5, 1960. Jonathan was preceded in death by his father Joseph. Jon is survived by his loving wife Anna of 33 years; beloved son Jonathan Nava Jr.; mother Joan Sprinkle; brother Joseph Nava Jr.; sisters Dawn Gambale, Danielle Cummins and Frances Stainrod; and brother Abraham Sprinkle. Jonathan proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 8.5 years. Jon served as a firefighter and was step-promoted to Technical Sergeant-E6. Jonathan had an associate's degree in fire science. After Jonathan was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1990, he was employed by the Yavapai County Road Department starting as operator 1, retiring June 2013 as the Yavapai County Public Works Regional Road Department inspector. Jonathan was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and the Kansas City Chiefs. Jonathan will be sorely missed by his friends and family. A memorial funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at St. Germaine's Catholic Church. Services entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home. Information provided by survivors.
