Dr. John M. Wilson III of SaddleBrooke, Arizona passed away peacefully at his home Sunday morning, September 7, 2014.
Dr. Wilson was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 21, 1944, and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He practiced as a psychiatrist in Memphis, Tennessee and Albuquerque, New Mexico before retiring to Tucson in December of 2013.
Dr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Catherine Napier, and three daughters, Dr. Julie Wilson of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Dana Wilson of Memphis, Tennessee, and Katie Wilson of Ocala, Florida. He had two surviving brothers, Dr. David Wilson and James Wilson, as well as two nephews, Erick Wilson and Justin Wilson, and a niece, Kristen Smith. Dr. Wilson was preceded in death by his father, Dr. John M. Wilson II, and his mother, Dibby Wilson. A memorial will be held in Rio Rancho, New Mexico at St. Francis Episcopal Church located at 2903 Cabezon Road, Rio Rancho, New Mexico on September 27, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Francis Church in Rio Rancho.
