HASSE, M. Carlyne

Journal-Standard (Freeport IL) Wednesday, May 29, 2013 M. Carlyne Hasse, 84, of Freeport died Saturday at Stephenson Nursing Center. She was born April 7, 1929, in Rockford, Illinois; the daughter of August and Lurena (Pratt) Schlensker. On May 27, 1950, she married Leonard "Bud" Hasse in Loves Park, Illinois. Mrs. Hasse was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ and served on several of the church boards. She was active in Girl Scouts and enjoyed being outdoors. She is survived by her husband, Leonard "Bud" Hasse of Freeport; two daughters, Mary Kay (Lloyd) Barker of Lake of The Hills, Illinois and Debra (Craig) Spooner of Jamestown, NC; two grandsons, Chris and Matt Spooner; sister, Martha (Paul) Clark of Wickenburg, AZ. She was preceded in death by two brothers and her sister. The memorial service for Mrs. Hasse will be 11am Friday in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Visitation will be from 10am until time of service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Freeport. A memorial has been established in her name.
