Michael Anthony Carragher, 73, resident of Globe died peacefully Sept. 27, 2014, at Banner Good Samaritan surrounded by loving family. He was born Dec. 9, 1940, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Mike was reared in Snowflake and graduated from Snowflake High School in 1958. He graduated from Brigham Young University, then went on to get an MBA from the University of Arizona and graduated law school from Arizona State University.
As a successful member of the Arizona State Bar Association, Mike was a practicing attorney until the day he passed. Mike had a passion and a zest for life that included deep sea fishing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and being an active and enthusiastic member of the BPOE (Elks), for which he held many offices at the local and state level.
A warm and gregarious man known for his wit, humor and lively stories, Mike was the light of every party and a friend to everyone who met him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Aloysius Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Hensler Carragher, and siblings Patrick, Timothy Jr., William and Brenda.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannie; daughters Siobahn and Meghan; stepsons Peter Olson and Eric Olson, sisters Inez Turrietta and Coneen Biggs; 12 grandchildren; and numerous extended family.
Mike will be laid to rest in a graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Snowflake Cemetery. A reception will be held in his honor at 4 p.m. at the Pinal Mountain BPOE No. 2809 in Globe.
