Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, October 8, 2014 - Allen Ray McIlvain Jr. passed away September 29, 2014, at the age of 61. He was born on May 12, 1953, to Mary Louise (Bishop) and Allen Ray McIlvain Sr. in Dayton, Ohio. Al, as he was known by friends and family, grew up in Dayton, Ohio. He also spent time living in Los Angeles, La Puente, and Azusa, California, before settling in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, in 2004. He and wife, Madelyn were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1993. Al was a Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed shooting, gardening, swimming and horse races. He loved decorating Mohave Community College for Christmas and looked forward to it every year. He also cherished his beloved dogs and was known to enjoy his Coors Light. Al is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Mary McIlvain, as well as his sister, Theresa McIlvain. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Madelyn McIlvain, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; children, Brandi Bentzinter, of Boise, Idaho, Edward Sanchez Jr., Marcus Sanchez, and Jeremy Sanchez, all of Los Angeles, California; brothers, Calvin (Rebecca) McIlvain, of Rialto, California, Patrick (Leah) McIlvain, of Upland, California and Danny McIlvain, of Upland, California, as well as sister, Tina (Michael) Tillman, of Rancho Santa Margarita, California. He also leaves behind two grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2014, with visitation beginning at 2:00pm and funeral service at 4:00pm.
