Arrangements are under the direction of Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary, wwwFlagstaffMortuary.com ~~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Wednesday, November 12, 2014 Prof./Dr. Sangmyung Lee,76+, Flagstaffian since 1972, passed away to be with his Lord on 10-1-2014. He loved mercy, did justly, and walked humbly with God according to Micah 6:8. He was born in South Korea, received his Baccalaureate and Master’s Degrees in Civil Engineering from Seoul National University, the top University in South Korea. He was Chair of Engineering Departments at the South-Korean Universities where he also taught. In 1967, he was one of two engineers in South Korea selected by UNESCO to further his academic and professional training in the U.S.A., receiving his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah. He taught at NAU part time while also consulting. In 1988, he began as a Federal Government Engineer for the Department of Interior focusing on the Central Arizona Project for which he was commissioned for Arizona, California and Nevada. He retired in 2004. He is survived by his wife of 45+ years, Prof./Dr. Chunhye Kim/Lee, Children: Prof./Dr. Charles Lee, Atty. Grace Lee, and grandson Taiga. He is also survived by his 98 yr. old father, two brothers, two sisters, nephews and nieces in South Korea. Prof./Dr. Lee was a loving, caring, and devoted son, brother, husband, and father…..He will be well remembered as a person of righteousness, justice, humility, integrity and a man of few words. He will be greatly missed by all.
