Uncle Sam's Oldest Pensioner Dead, 121

Kansas City, Kan., March 21--Louis Merriman, a negro who was born when George Washington was president of the United States, died at his home here last night.

Merriman was the oldest man on the United States pension rolls, and claimed to have proven that he was born 121 years ago on the Sopher plantation in Virginia.
