WIRTZ, Robert (Bob)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 Robert "Bob" Wirtz, 89, passed away Oct. 12, 2014, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born to Edward and Veronica Wirtz March 25 1925, in St. Louis Mo. He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Elizabeth ("Liz"). He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946, in the South Pacific. He was in the Federal Government Service as a technical writer/editor, retiring after 25 years. After retiring from Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, he and Liz lived in Tucson and then settled in Prescott Valley. They both loved traveling and made numerous trips to Europe. Both were avid Jazz, Dixieland fans with a collection of LPs and CDs. Bob enjoyed painting and writing as his hobbies. No funeral plans are scheduled for now.
