L'ESPERANCE, JR., Enrique (Henry)


Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Arizona Enrique L'Esperance Jr. February 11, 1922 ~ October 14, 2014 Enrique "Henry" L'Esperance was born in a small town in San Miguel County called Mineral Hill in San Geronimo, New Mexico. He was born into a farming family, loved the outdoors, animals and playing guitar music with his family. He had a big heart and befriended many. He often shared the gospel with his late brother Augustine. Henry joined the armed forces during World War II and said he crossed the ocean seven times. He was a heavy artillery man and survived a typhoon in Japan. He later married Clara Padilla and started a family after moving to Miami, Arizona. There he worked as a pump-man in the copper mines and retired after 30 years. They had four children: Anna, Stephen, Martha and Dorothy. Henry later moved to Kansas as a widower where he lived for the next 18 years. He spent a lot of time with his grandchildren. He played the guitar and enjoyed gardening, light carpentry, and reading the bible. He moved back to Arizona last year and kept his faith, sense of humor his love for the KC Royals and the KU Jayhawks to the end. Service: 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel 8480 E Valley Rd Prescott Valley AZ 86314. Cemetery: Committal is at 12:30 p.m. Monday, October 20th, 2014 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N Cave Creek Road Phoenix AZ 85024.
