Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, October 23, 2014 - Carolyn H. Kastner, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Norco, Calif. with her family around her, Oct. 15, 2014 following a long 10- month battle to recover from a massive stroke following quadruple bypass surgery due to a heart attack. She was born Oct. 10, 1935 to Herman William “Dave” and Alison Mary Elizabeth (Johnson) Davids. She married the love of her life Joseph C. Kastner, 60 years ago, July 23, 1954. Carolyn and Joe lived in Arcadia, Calif. before moving to Norco, Calif. 38 years ago and used Lake Havasu City, as a second home. She worked as a bank teller in Arcadia and after moving to Norco she was the office manager for the law office of Joseph C. Kastner. Carolyn loved life and her family and was very outgoing. She often traveled around the country on summer vacations with her family while her children where young. Carolyn is survived by her husband Joseph C. Kastner of Norco, Calif.; daughter, Jeanette Alison Kastner Sweeney of Lake Havasu City; son, Mark Alan Kastner of San Tan Valley, Ariz.; grandchildren, Brandon Christopher (Lindsay) Sweeney of Moreno Valley, Calif., Tara Lynette Sweeney of Boston, Jillian Lara Sweeney of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Ryan Nicholas Sweeney of Fremont, Neb.; great-grandchildren Liam Evan Sweeney and Abigail-Josephine Sweeney both of Moreno Valley, Calif.; and sister, Marilyn McDonald of Yucaipa, Calif. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. Visitation will be from 10:30-11 a.m., Saturday with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. at Norco Family Funeral Home, 2645 Hamner Ave., Norco, CA 92860. Condolences may be sent to P.O.
