ARMSTRONG, Dora Catherine


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/31/2014 Dora Catherine Armstrong peacefully went home Oct. 24, 2014, in Globe. She was born Nov. 28, 1929, to the late Carl and Fannie (Standing) Armstrong in Cedar Creek. Dora started working at Indian Health Services in Whiteriver as a nurse’s aid March 13, 1949, and retired in July 1981. For 32 years Dora made traditional dresses for all her nieces and grandchildren. She also made baby blankets for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a strong Catholic. Dora is survived by many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two goddaughters and two godsons and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. Dora will be brought home to her residence in Cedar Creek for a wake at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Funeral services will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the same location. Silver Creek Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
