Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from Nov. 2 to Nov. 9, 2014 - Wayne Edgar Adams, age 82, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Mesa Ariz. after losing his second battle with cancer. He was born in Poland Junction, Ariz. on June 10, 1932 and grew up in Mayer, Ariz. His father, Albert Adams was a miner and his mother Geneva (Williams) a teacher. Wayne served in the Navy as a Seabee (Construction battalion) during the Korean War. Upon discharge he moved to Tempe, Ariz. where he met and married Mary Ellen. Later the family moved to Bullhead City, Ariz. where he established Adams Construction and ran it for nearly 35 years before retiring to Mesa, where he became well known for his creative ability through constructing steel decorative pieces including figures and furniture under the title of Wayne "Works. Wayne is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ellen (Monson); his daughter, Rainette (Gerard) Geudon; son, Trent (Shelia); He was beloved "Poppa" to Rainette's daughters, Athena, Mariah and Rachel; and Trent and Shelia's daughter, Maddie as well as Rainette's two grandsons; he is also survived by his sister, Carolyn (Gary) Fairall; brother, Larry (Carolyn "Robbie); and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to American Cancer Association or your favorite charity in Wayne's memory. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at Trent and Shelia's home on Saturday, November 8, 2014.
