Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, November 5, 2014 - Hobert Morris Ray Sr., age 76, of Lake Havasu City passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 at home in Lake Havasu City. Hobert was born May 6, 1938 in Vandalia, Ill. He is the son of the late Harry Francis and Lula C. (Taylor) Ray. He married Patricia J. Fischer in Las Vegas, Jan. 26, 1957. Hobert served in the Navy where he received a National Defense Service Medal and was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad as a machinist for more than 42 years. Hobert had a passion for classic cars, aviation (pilot of small air craft), dancing, trains, and wood-working. Hobert is survived by his wife, Patricia Joan Ray of Lake Havasu City; three daughters, Deborah L. Fonte of Lake Havasu City, Doreen L. Ray- Raigosa (Mark) of Long Beach, Calif., Diana L. Wadley (Dain) of Escondido, Calif.; and daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn Ray of Apple Valley, Calif.; and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents, Harry Francis and Lula C. Ray; son, Hobert M. Ray II; brother, Harry Ray Jr. and sisters, Alma Berry and Chloe Tipton. Hobert possessed a fullness of life and an abundance of love for family and friends. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel, 21 Riviera Blvd., with graveside service and fellowship at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10, at Desert View Memorial Park, 11478 Amargosa Rd., Victorville, CA 92392.
