Louis A, Polyard, 83, of Lake Havasu City, passed away Nov. 2, 2014 at
the Polidori House following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 6,
1934, to George and Verna (Sass) Polyard, in Wabasha, Minn. where Louis
attended Wabasha High School. He joined the US Army in 1952, where he
served in Korea.
Louis was a 60-plus year member of the American Legion and a lifetime
member of the VFW. Louis was married to his first wife, Gelene, for 53
years before she passed in 2007.
In 2008, Louis married Janet. Together they enjoyed going on cruises and
visiting their families back in Minnesota during the summers.
Louis was a member of our Survivor Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Lake
Havasu City.
Louis is survived by his wife, Janet of Lake Havasu City; son, David and
his wife, Shirley of Superior, Colo.; two grandchildren, George and Jane
of Superior, Colo.; brother, Glen (Mary) Polyard, and sisters, Janice
(Bob) Glomski and Marilyn Loechler all of Wabasha, Minn.; sister in-law,
Florence (Lester) Polyard and sister in-law, JoAnn (Lloyd) Polyard.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gelence and his son John; his
parents and three brothers, Wayne, Lester and Lloyd.
Per Louis’s request, only graveside services will take place. They
commence at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 7, at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
Donations can be made in Louis’s name to Hospice of Havasu.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
