Daniel "Dan" Edward Chapman, 54, went to be with the Lord Nov. 2, 2014. He passed away at home unexpectedly of heart failure in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Born June 16, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, Dan was the son of Trudy Chapman-Radley and stepfather Jim Radley, and preceded by his father, William D. Chapman.
Throughout his life, he was a successful painting contractor for over 30 years. Dan will forever be remembered for his gentle heart and unforgettable laugh. He deeply loved his family and was special to all who loved him.
He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by his fiancée, Debra Brent Hood; his children, Alisa Darlene Chapman, Danelle Lee Chapman, Austin McGriff-Chapman and Cody Daniel Chapman; his grandchildren, Logan Jay Gabaldon and Sawyer Rae Johnson; siblings Karyn Patton, Elizabeth Bailey, Kelly Lopez and Patricia Haasoont. He was preceded by Robert Chapman and Sandy Reed. Dan had a large blended family that included aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many others who he adored.
He graduated from Greenway High School in 1978. He resided in Phoenix for 35 years until he moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona, in 1999. A cowboy and outdoorsman to the core, Dan recently traded in his horse for a hog and took over the roads on his Harley. Over the past few years, he developed a passion for his special-needs friends at New Horizons Disability Center where he was a driver.
Isaiah 40:31: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles." Spread your wings and fly high, Dan - you're free and we will always love you.
A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Nov. 16, 2014, at Chapman-Radley Ranch, 10190 N. Prescott Ridge Road, Prescott Valley. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in honor of Dan. Condolences can be sent to ourhappyblendedfamily.com.
