Graham Eugene (Gene) Black died quietly Oct. 21, 2014, at the age of 76. He was born June 21, 1938, in Huntington, W.Va., to Minnie and Graham Black.

He moved with his family to Phoenix at the start of his freshman year in high school, served in the U.S. Navy Seabees for 23 years, retiring in 1981.

He is survived by his mother, Rebecca; brothers Norman and Jimmy (Elaine); sons Dennis (Sara), Dale (Dar), Bobby (Vanessa), Phillip (Jeni), Eddie (Karena), Junior (Judy) and Ralph (Ellen); and also 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
