Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Ernest “Ernie” O’Brien June 25, 1930 ~ November 3, 2014 Ernest “Ernie” O’Brien, died November 3, 2014 at the Marley House in Prescott. He was born June 25, 1930 in Owensboro, KY, the son of John A. and Mary I. (Hoagland) O’Brien. Ernie was 84 years old. Ernie married the love of his life, Alice June 21, 1952. Together they raised their five children in California. Ernie and Alice moved to Prescott after Ernie retired. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish. Ernie enjoyed watching baseball and football games and really loved spending time at the ocean, either on the beach or deep sea fishing. He also liked dropping a fishing line at Lynx Lake. The family fondly remembers what a loving husband and fantastic father he was. Ernie is survived by his wife Alice of Prescott; daughters Sharon O’Brien of Prescott and Maryjane Davis of Bloomsberg, PA; sons Randolph (Shiow-Lin) of Fullerton, CA, Daniel (Karin) of Stockholm, Sweden, Thomas (Haven) of Monterose, CO; sister Jenny-Kay (Mark) Daniels of Santa Cruz, CA; and 12 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials in Ernie’s name to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 150 Fluery, Prescott, AZ 86301. Service: 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 150 Fleury St. Prescott Arizona will be the funeral mass for Ernie. Final commendation and farewell with full military honors will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Prescott National Cemetery S Overland Rd at Quiet Peace Lane Prescott AZ 86313.
