HOPPER, JR., Robert (Bob) Elison Frank


The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, November 08, 2014 Robert "Bob" Elison Frank Hopper Jr. passed away on Oct. 29, 2014. Bob was born on July 13, 1952, in Chicago, IL, to Robert and Emily (Strache) Hopper. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; three sons, Robert III (Jenn), Steven (Amie), J.T. (Savannah); three grandsons, Noah, Robert IV, and Easton. He is also survived by his five siblings, David (Cheryl), Mike (Jeanette), Bill (Dorothy), Wendy Owens, and Lori (Bob) Palmer; two sisters-in-law, Gerry (Joe) Hassman, Debbie Laughridge; two brothers-in-law, Chuck (Page) Barnes, Ken (Shasta) Barnes; three aunts, Arlene Buss, Georgene Dearman, and Marcella Hopper; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jackie Hopper; brother-in-law, Roger Owens, and two nephews, Joseph Hopper and Leo Austin. Bob lived a fulfilling life and truly was the definition of a family man. He enjoyed his family more than anything and also enjoyed spending time with his two dogs, Bear and Toby. He was a gentle, giving, loving soul with a heart of gold. He would do anything for others and was quick to offer his help to anyone in need. Throughout his life Bob was a Verde Village volunteer firefighter, a Yavapai County sheriff's officer, Youngtown policeman, Southwest Gas Service Tech., realtor and worked at Walmart. He volunteered his time coaching for his boy's sports teams and neighborhood games. As a final act of service, Bob donated his body to science to help others learn about his disease and to hopefully become one step closer to a cure. Bob will forever be missed, but if he has left anything behind, it is a legacy that his family will never forget.
