METCALFE, Harold Clark

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 11, 2001, A18 Harold Clark Metcalfe of Wickenburg, died April 2. He was 82. Mr. Metcalfe was born in 1919 in Cloversville, N.Y., and raised in Pittsburgh, Penn. He was the only child of Harold S. Metcalfe and Florence J. Metcalfe. Mr. Metcalfe was a dedicated teacher, and is still remembered by many students and teachers as senior author of "Modern Chemistry" and "Modern Physics." He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Ann; his son, William Metcalfe of Inverness, Fla.; his daughter, Janet Phillips of Holdrege, Neb.; and four grandchildren, Steven and Julian Phillips, and David and Alex Metcalfe. There were no services in Wickenburg. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in Guilderland, N.Y.
